Eating less processed foods, in smaller quantities, will not only ensure you lose weight, it will keep the weight off.

Whether you are aiming to lose a lot of weight or a few pounds, it's important to change the way you think about food.

Below are 15 tips to help with your dieting.

If you may be at any medical risk by undertaking a diet and exercise plan you should talk to your doctor about determining your ideal weight, and the level of exercise suitable for you, every person is different.

10 Dieting Tips
  1. Eat and chew slowly. Try to stop eating before you feel full - It takes 20 minutes for the stomach to tell the brain that it is full
  2. Eat more fresh, simple, unprocessed foods. Enjoy those crisp vegetable salads instead of processed ready meals.
  3. Exercise. Thirty minutes a day is great, even if this is just a walk around the block, and it'll make a huge difference to you life.
  4. Set feasible goals. If your goals are impossible to achieve you'll end up disappointed.
  5. Drink eight 8 oz. glasses of water a day. Water has no calories and is essential for the body to function.
  6. Slowly cut out those large food portions, with more moderate portion sizes (see point 1)
  7. Eat smaller meals, but more of them - eating frequently will help keep your blood sugar levels stable, which will mean you feel less hungry.
  8. Fad diets go out of style quickly.
  9. Talk about you success and struggles, you don't have to join "Weight Watchers", but talk to friends who will encourage you and give you the support that you need. Check our support forum
  10. Don't feel guilty, there are going to be times when you overeat or eat junk food, it's fine and normal. As long as you're motivated and determined you'll succeed.
