Vitamins and Minerals- Micronutrients

Vitamins and minerals are known as micronutrients because we only need a small amount each day. Of course - the best way of getting all the vitamins and minerals you need is by eating a balanced diet.

Whilst taking vitamin supplements may ensure you get the quantities of vitamins and minerals your body requires - if you're having to take them it may indicate your diet is not as balanced as it could be. Vitamins play a significant part in the process of converting food into energy or fat. Your body naturally produces some vitamins, others are supplied by food or supplements.
